Located near Reno, Nevada, TerraScale’s Energos Reno data center campus is setting a new standard in data security and sustainability. Built in two phases, with an initial 20MW anchor tenant and a full capacity of 100MW, this innovative facility is designed to ensure total reliability in power and catastrophic loss mitigation. As the first large-scale data center in the U.S. powered entirely by on-site renewable energy, Energos Reno offers behind-the-meter energy generation and storage, providing uninterrupted power even during grid outages. With 100% carbon emissions-free operations, it’s the ideal location for federal, state, and industry partners who need secure and sustainable data solutions.
Project Energos
Location: Reno, Nevada
Venue: 3,700 acres
Cost: $250M; Phase I
The site of TerraScale's future Energos Reno data center campus is near Reno, Nevada. The modular data center campus will be built in two phases: 20/MW for an initial anchor tenant and a total capacity available of 100MW.
This design also offers unique "Survivability" in terms of catastrophic loss risk mitigation to a customer's data. It should be a priority location for federal and state governments and industry partners that support government data.
As recently illustrated by power outages from the East coast to the West coast, assured power from traditional utility companies is not guaranteed. This data center will be the first large-scale 100% carbon emissions-free Data Center via on-site power within the United States.
Energos Reno will be the first data center campus to have on-site behind-the-meter renewable energy generation/storage, capable of back- up and primary power for times where there is no sun, wind, or utility. 100% reliability built to government standards with commercial flexibility.
